Design has always been at the heart of my work — as both a creative practice and a means of exploring how people connect, communicate, and shape identity. I’m trained as a graphic designer and hold a Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design) from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. My master’s studies focused on marketing and advertising. My PhD research investigates how participatory design can support the transition of national and cultural identity in post-conflict societies.
With more than two decades of experience in design, my work spans brand development, packaging, publishing, exhibition design, environmental graphics, and new media. Each project has reinforced my belief that design is not only about visual expression, but about empathy, storytelling, and social impact. Alongside my professional practice, I have built a rewarding career in academia. I have taught at Monash University’s Faculty of Art & Design and the Australian Academy of Design in Melbourne, where I also served as Program Coordinator and Senior Lecturer. My international experience includes roles as Head of the Department of Art & Design at Box Hill College Kuwait and Assistant Professor in Visual Communication at Gulf University for Science & Technology.
I am passionate about fostering creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness in the next generation of designers — encouraging them to see design as a tool for communication, collaboration, and meaningful social change.
